Grown in Cumbria, sawn in Cumbria, Used in Cumbria. These oak beams were recently growing in Miterdale (just south of Ennerdale) before Christmas and now they have been cut and jointed into beams to restore the oak framed roof of the 16th Century (we think) barn at Gillerthwaite. As part of refurbishing the site the YHA are replacing the roof over the barn and the bothy. As landlord the Forestry Commission have provided the timber free of charge.
