As a gravel hard standing appears just over the Irish bridge visitors may be wondering what is being built.

In a review of the grazing of the valley bottom fields we realised last year that the sheep pens were siting over the top of a number of important historic monuments.  In order to protect these a new set of pens is being built in the field nearest the Irish Bridge as this is the only field without any any historic monuments. Once the new pens have been built the old pens will be removed so there will be no net increase in built structures in the valley. Actually there will be a slight reduction in fencing from the old pens (see below) to the new ones.
