A close up encounter with a Juniper bush is not recommended but this image does show the symmetrical form of its branches. The bush that this image was taken of also shows the pyrimidal form of Juniper (see below)

Juniper may also hold the key to the valleys name. We know that the old Scandinivina Norse language has influenced many place names in Cumbria such as "Thwaite" meaning meadow. Interestingly Juniper when translated into modern day Norwegian becomes "Einer" or in Swedish "En" which is remakably close to the spelling at the beginning of the valleys name of Ennerdale.
